At first glance, the Stalk side table captivates with its simplicity and hidden sophistication. The symmetrical design, created through precision laser-cutting of metal, fascinates with its clean forms and minimalist aesthetics. The table's geometrical shape and perspective lines make it a versatile piece that can be used individually or as part of a modular arrangement.
Measuring 420 x 600 x 420 mm for the larger version and 400 x 600 x 380 mm for the smaller version, the Stalk side table is made from a 3mm powder-coated iron plate. The metal plate is precision-cut using a laser and then bent to achieve the desired shape.
What sets the Stalk side table apart is its interactive and customizable nature. It can be easily mounted, combined, organized, and reorganized to match your unique decorative and functional vision. With its modular design concept and geometrical shape, the Stalk side table can be tailored to suit any living space.
The Stalk side table project began in July 2018 and was completed in August 2018. Throughout the design process, the team experimented with various forms, angles, and perspectives to achieve the ideal shape. The biggest challenge was finding the precise stability and harmony between the lines, angles, and perspectives.
Photographer Diogo Pinelli beautifully captures the essence of the Stalk side table in his images. The table's design, with its laser-cut metal plate and straight folds, creates a striking visual impact. Whether used as a standalone piece or as part of a unique arrangement, the Stalk side table becomes the centerpiece of any space.
The Stalk side table has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2020. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical and creative skills. The Stalk side table exemplifies these qualities, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
